IBM Global Business Services (GBS) has established a global team of retail thought leaders and experts in the areas of Multi Channel Retailing, eCommerce, Customer Analytics and Merchandising. The focus of this team, the Retail Center of Competence, is developing solutions and transformational programs for retailers on customer:centric journeys across the globe.
The role of the Sr. Managing Consultant will be to assist in driving consulting sales in the areas of: Retail Multi Channel, eCommerce, Order Management and Merchandising across technology, process and strategic change initiatives to IBMs large:scale Retail clients in the US and globally.
Project Profiles: Demonstrated support across all phases of large, complex engagements, including functional, international or cross:organizational teams. Can provide support and oversight to multiple engagements at one time.
Sales and Proposal Management: Assists in establishing project vision and objectives with the client. Assists the proposal team through development of project scope and approach to solution client issues. Understands and abides by the quality assurance guidelines. Can assist and/or draft and review responses to Requests for Information (RFI), responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP), IBM contracts, and IBM statements of work.
Project Delivery Tasks: Assisting with the client sale and early stages of client delivery, ensuring transition from sales to delivery team. Will assist or lead work sessions and deliverable presentations with client CXO members. Identifies and secures new and follow on work with clients.
Knowledge Management: Ensures the use and collection of intellectual capital on the engagement.
People Management: Mentors junior consultants on the proposal team, manager
and other junior delivery consultants as appropriate.
Relationship Management: Develops relationships with client executives at CxO level. Strong executive
presence with the ability to establish credibility in first client meeting.
Competency: Recognized as an expert in their competency and/or specific offerings.
: Participates in and/or is responsible for the creation, harvesting, protection and reuse of IBMs intellectual capital. Participates actively in and in some cases leads knowledge sharing activities like communities of practice, forums, conferences and/or other knowledge exchanges.
Travel can be up to 5 days per week and international travel is required for this role.
